Gothic 1 Remake Trailer Gives Welcome to the Old Camp

THQ Nordic released a new trailer for Alkimia Interactive’s Gothic 1 Remake. The “Welcome to the Old Camp” video follows a thief working his way through the uncompromising Old Camp in the Valley of the Mines. The Gothic 1 Remake is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, though a release window has not been announced.

The original game was developed by Piranha Bytes and released for PC in 2001, with a Nintendo Switch port planned to release on September 29, 2023. The game is an action RPG set in a medieval fantasy realm where anyone found breaking the law is sent to the giant penal colony of Khorinis to mine the much needed ore for a war effort against an Orcish invasion. It spawned two official follow-ups, as well as the Arcania spin-off that was originally titled Arcania: Gothic 4.
