Dungeon Travelers Series Heading to PC

Shiravune announced that it is releasing Aquaplus’s dungeon-crawling series Dungeon Travelers on PC. Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal and Dungeon Travelers 2-2: The Fallen Maidens & the Book of Beginnings are planned to release this summer, with Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World following at a later date. The games, developed by Aquaplus and Sting, will come with English, Japanese, and Chinese language support. Shiravune announced that the games will be available on the Johren platform with other platforms to be announced. However, they will not be available on Steam with Shiravune citing difficulties with its “review process”, likely relating to its policies and particular images in the games. Readers should beware that the Johren platform has separate adult and “mainstream” versions.

Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World was originally released for PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2010. The game is a spin-off to the To Heart 2 romance visual novel and sees its characters transported to a fantasy RPG world where they must defeat its final boss to escape.

Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal features a more straightforward premise and is set in the kingdom of Romulea, where monsters have started an uprising against humanity. Players control Fried, an adventurer sent to quell the uprising by building a party from sixteen potential female members who can be rescued, defeated, or otherwise recruited. The game was released in Japan for PlayStation Portable in 2013 and PlayStation Vita in 2014, and is the only title to have previously received a western release with Atlus releasing it in North America and NIS America releasing it in Europe for PlayStation Vita in 2015.

Dungeon Travelers 2-2: The Fallen Maidens & the Book of Beginnings is a “what if?” sequel to Dungeon Travelers 2. It takes place in a world where Fried and his were defeated by the final boss. Following the kingdom’s fall to darkness, a mage discovers an amnesiac Fried, who sets on a journey to recover his allies. It originally released in Japan for PlayStation Vita in 2017.
