Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 Details Soul Cannon, Managarm
CyberConnect2 released more details for the upcoming Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2. The latest information, accompanied by new screenshots and a gameplay video focus on the Soul Cannon and Managarm, to incredibly powerful weapons available to players, though they might wish to avoid using them.
Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 takes place a year after the events of Fuga: Melodies of Steel and sees the children once again boarding a giant tank, on a rescue mission to save their comrades. The main tank this time around is the Exo-Taranis, which has the returning Soul Cannon and the new Managarm weapons.
Like in the previous game, the Soul Cannon is a deadly weapon that can take down any foes with a single blow. However, using it requires one of the children to sacrifice their life. In addition, the Exo-Taranis has an AI called Hax that will randomly select one of the children and initiate the Soul Cannon of its own accord if it detects danger. To avoid the Soul Cannon being used, players must defeat the enemy before the countdown runs out. The Managarm acts as a safety-net option for the Soul Cannon. Instead of using their full life-force, it only uses a small portion, temporarily knocking them out. Children who are knocked out can recover in the dormitory during the next intermission phase of the game.
Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 will release worldwide on May 11, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. A Digital Deluxe Edition will be available that includes an 80-page digital art book, a 15-track digital soundtrack, in-game sleepwear costumes, an in-game Dummy Energy for the Managarm, an in-game Dummy Soul for the Soul Cannon, and a set of in-game items.
