New Release Round-Up (December 15, 2022)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Broken Lines

Tactical RPG Broken Lines is set during an alternate-history version of World War II and features a heavy focus on characters and story. The game follows a squad of eight British soldiers who are left behind enemy lines after their plane crash-lands and whose personalities are affected by the events they witness. Players also make important decisions that affect how the story plays out.


Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a remaster of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, a prequel to the original Final Fantasy VII, and follows SOLDIER Zack Fair. The Reunion version features graphical enhancements, pacing improvements to the game’s real-time combat system, a reworking of its DMW and Limit Break systems, new summon animations, new enemy attack mechanics, full voice acting, and a re-arranged soundtrack from composer Takeharu Ishimoto.


River City Girls 2

River City Girls 2 is a spin-off to the Kunio-kun brawler series and a follow-up to 2019’s River City Girls. It features six playable characters — with Misako, Kyoko, Kunio, and Riki joined by newcomers Marian and Provie — as well as two-player online co-op. River City Girls 2 also adds new items, weapons, moves, shops, and hazards, plus a day-night cycle, quest tracking, three difficulty settings, and dialogue that changes depending on the player-controlled characters.


The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt follows Geralt of Rivia as he searches for his surrogate daughter, Ciri, as she is being chased by the Wild Hunt. The dedicated PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions include ray tracing support, improved load times, and mod integration. Both the new versions and the existing PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch are also receiving a free update containing selected improvements and new content based on The Witcher TV series from Netflix.
