The Witcher Remake Announced

CD Projekt RED revealed more details on one of the projects revealed earlier this month. Initially referred to as project Canis Majoris, the game has been announced as a full remake of the first game in the Witcher series. The remake is being developed by Fool’s Theory using Unreal Engine 5, with CD Projekt RED providing creative supervision.

The Witcher was originally released for PC in 2007, with an “Enhanced Edition” released in 2009 and a Mac version in 2012. Neither platforms nor a release window have been announced for the remake. The game is based on the fantasy novel series by Andrzej Sapkowski and follows Geralt of Rivia, a traveling monster hunter with supernatural powers known as a Witcher. The game has so far received two sequels, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with another title currently being developed by Molasses Flood and a new trilogy being developed by CD Projekt RED.
