First Starfield Gameplay Shown

During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Bethesda Softworks debuted the first gameplay footage from sci-fi RPG Starfield. The video shows the game’s first- and third-person camera views along with its open-world exploration and shooting-based combat. It also shows some of the locations and characters players will see in the game.

Customisation options in Starfield shown during the video include a character builder, as well as skill and crafting systems that build upon those from previous Bethesda titles. In addition, players can build their own outposts and design their own spaceships. Characters can hire workers and crew for both their outposts and spaceships. The game will include spaceship combat and over a thousand explorable planets.

Starfield is set in the year 2330 in a pocket of the Milky Way around 50 light-years from Earth called the Settled Systems. The game is set to be released in 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
