Front Mission Remakes Revealed

During the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced Front Mission 1st: Remake and Front Mission 2: Remake. The games are remakes of the first two titles in the Front Mission mecha tactical RPG series and are being created by Forever Entertainment.

The first Front Mission game was originally released for Super Famicom in Japan in 1995 with versions also released for WonderSwan Color, PlayStation, and Nintendo DS, with North America receiving the Nintendo DS version. Front Mission 2 was released only in Japan for PlayStation in 1997.

Both games are set in an alternate future where mechas called wanzers are the primary tools of conflict. The games feature turn-based tactical battles where players and opponents are able to target specific parts of enemy wanzers. Front Mission 1st: Remake will release for Nintendo Switch in summer 2022, with Front Mission 2: Remake to follow at a later date.

I hope it’s a total remake like FF7. Front Mission definitely deserves it.

  2. This makes me really happy, especially with the planned release of the second game as well. This and the 2D-HD(!!) remake of “Live A Live”…. this was the best Nintendo Direct in relation to reveals in a long while!
