Singularity 6 Announces Palia

Developer Singularity 6, a new studio formed by veterans from multiple companies, has announced Palia, an online fantasy life simulation title. The game is set in a world where humans are considered a legendary race that disappeared thousands of years ago.

Players control a human character who suddenly awakens in this world and forges a new life for themselves in the lakeside village where they wake up. Players will be able to form and build relationships with a diverse cast of NPCs, including romance, as well as interact with other players. Characters and homes can be heavily customised, with over a thousand pieces of decor slated to be available at launch.

Palia is designed to foster an online community; players will be able to join up for activities as well as visit each other’s homes, while the game will include a cooperative loot system and social matchmaking. The game will include tools and settings to permit differing levels of access to friends and strangers, including permitting them to assist with decoration, though the exact details are still to be ironed out. Players will be largely free to opt into whatever content they wish, but Singularity 6 promises a global evolving narrative for the game that will be unveiled over multiple years as players uncover the secrets behind humanity’s disappearance.

Palia is currently early in development for PC, though additional platforms are planned. A pre-alpha is planned to launch this summer, with sign-ups available now through the game’s official website. Pricing for the game has not yet been announced.
