Cyberpunk 2077 Delisted from PlayStation Store

Following significant technical issues with the console release of CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077, Sony has delisted the game from the digital PlayStation Store. The game will remain playable for those who have purchased it physically or digitally. Sony is also offering refunds to those who have purchased the game digitally through a dedicated page and form, which states that:

SIE [Sony Interactive Entertainment] strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.

CD Projekt RED put out its own statement:

The Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) hereby publicly discloses the decision of Sony Interactive Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as “SIE”) to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice. The decision was undertaken following our discussion with SIE regarding a full refund for all gamers who had purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store and want a refund at this time. All copies of the game previously purchased digitally on PlayStation Store remain available for use by their respective buyers. Gamers can still buy physical versions of the game in retail and mail order stores. All copies, whether digital or physical, will continue to receive support and updates from the Company.

The Management Board of the Company has decided to publicly disclose this information in the form of a current report due to its potential influence on investment-related decisions.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia on December 10, 2020. Shortly after launch, CD Projekt RED put out a statement apologising for the state of the console versions of the game following complaints about the console performance after reviewers were only given access to the PC version prior to launch.

Update — Microsoft has also announced that it is extending its refund policy for the game.

Cyberpunk 2077: To ensure that every player can get the experience they expect on Xbox, we will be expanding our existing refund policy to offer full refunds to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 digitally from the Microsoft Store, until further notice.
