King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Announced, Undergoing Kickstarter Campaign

Developer NeocoreGames has announced King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, an upcoming turn-based tactical RPG. The game is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and is currently undergoing a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

Players are put in the role of Sir Mordred, King Arthur’s nemesis. Though Mordred was able to kill Arthur, Arthur struck back with his dying breath. However, both Arthur and Mordred still live. The Lady of the Lake, the ruler of the island of Avalon, brings Mordred back in order to finish off Arthur, or whatever his body has become.

The game features over thirty heroes across five different classes, with players selecting a team to go out on missions and encounters against seven enemy factions. These heroes have their own skill trees and upgrade options; however, they can also be permanently injured or killed. It also features a morality chart, with player decisions leading to different branches in the story.

The Kickstarter campaign is looking for £115,000 (around $150,000) by November 12, 2020. There is currently an 5,000-quantity Early Bird tier where those who pledge at least £20 (around $26) will receive a digital copy of the game as part of their backer rewards; after this runs out the equivalent tier will be £25 (around $32). King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is currently expected to release in 2021.
