Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent Slated for October Japanese Release

Square Enix has announced a Japanese release date for Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. The mobile title will launch for iOS on the App Store and Android via Google Play on October 28, 2020. The mobile title is free-to-play with in-app purchases. There is no announced release date for Western audiences. Square Enix has released a new trailer for the game, which is viewable below.

Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is a single-player RPG, which acts as a prequel to the original Octopath Traveler. The new mobile prequel will utilize the same “HD-2D” graphics as the Nintendo Switch title. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent was first announced in March 2019.
