THQ Nordic Acquires Piranha Bytes

THQ Nordic has added another developer to its portfolio. The publisher announced that it has acquired Piranha Bytes, which becomes a 100% subsidiary. As part of the deal, THQ Nordic has acquired the rights to Piranha Bytes’ Gothic, Risen, and ELEX series.

THQ Nordic stated that no changes in personnel will result at Piranha Bytes as part of the acquisition, and that the developer will remain in its current location in Essen, Germany. Piranha Bytes will continue to focus on creating RPGs, with future titles to be published by THQ Nordic.

    Hope elex 2 builds on the first one. That’s a game that many probably don’t have the taste to deal with the problems that it had, but was rewarding for those with the patience to do it. Special enough that I’m ready for elex 2.
