Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna Receives New Japanese Trailer

RPGamers will soon be able to travel back five hundred years with Monolith Soft’s standalone prequel expansion, Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country. Nintendo has offered a new Japanese trailer for the expansion that takes players back to the early days of the Torna organization. The prequel follows Lora, a traveling mercenary who is on a journey to find her lost mother. Joining Lora are many familiar Blades, such as Jin, Mythra, Brighid, and Aegaeon, that fans will recognize from the original Xenoblade Chronicles 2 story.

The video also shows how Torna will play different than the original game. In battles, players can now switch between Drivers and Blades, where as in the original only the Drivers were controllable. Players will also be able to rest at campsites scattered across the world. These designated areas offer respite for the party where players can rest, create items, and chat with the party.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country will be available as a DLC add-on to the original game, or sold separately as a standalone title. The digital version is scheduled to release for the Nintendo Switch on September 14, 2018 across all regions, with the physical release set for September 21, 2018.
