Digital Store Weekly Round-Up (Feb. 22, 2018)

Welcome to RPGamer’s weekly digital round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with updates on recent releases and sales for RPGs across the digital marketplace.


New Releases

A good mix of new releases hits North America and Europe this week. Comedic open-world RPG Abo Khashem and the latest Sword Art Online game both hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One, while tower-defence/RPG hybrid Defender’s Quest makes its debut on console. Kemco’s Dragon Sinker is ported to Switch, and another comedic RPG The Chronicles of Nyanya hits PC. There is also a demo version for The Alliance Alive on 3DS, which launches fully next week.


Sales and Discounts

The North American PlayStation store gets on the EA sale bandwagon with all three Dragon Age games plus the Mass Effect trilogy bundle and Mass Effect: Andromeda discounted. PlayStation owners in Europe get a new PS4 sale that includes titles such as Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, Final Fantasy XIV, Tales of Berseria, Yakuza Kiwami, God Eater 2, .hack//G.U., Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth, Battle Chasers: Nightwar, and many more. Europe also gets a Games Under €10 sale offering deals on PS4, PS3, and Vita titles such as The Banner Saga, Bastion, Darkest Dungeon, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, and others.

The Xbox Store also features an EA publisher sale, offering discounts on Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and Mass Effect: Andromeda. Final Fantasy XV is also on sale for Gold members.

Nintendo of America’s sole RPG on sale is budget 3DS title Brave Dungeon. Nintendo of Europe also just appears to have the one game on sale in Nine Parchments on Switch.

The current Steam sales include reductions on Blackguards and Blackguards 2. only has a couple of new games on sale in Halcyon 6 and Sacred 2. Finally, The Humble Store has sales for the Might & Magic series plus Tom Clancy’s The Division and both South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured but Whole.
