Pokémon Scarlet, Violet Introduce Iono and Bellibolt

The Pokémon Company introduced a new Gym Leader and her partner Pokémon debuting in the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Iono is the Gym Leader in the city of Levincia and specialises in Electric-type Pokémon. In addition to being a Gym Leader, she is also a very popular streamer, known as the Supercharged Streamer, with her show the Iono Zone.

Iono’s partner Pokémon is the EleFrog Pokémon Bellibolt. It expands and contracts its elasticated body to produce electricity in its belly button-like organ. The electricity is then discharged from the bumps on its forehead. Bellibolt comes with the returning Static ability and the new Electromorphosis ability, which boosts the power of its next Electric-type move after it is hit with an attack.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will release worldwide for Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022. They will be available physically and digitally, including in a physical bundle containing both games, with European copies for the dual pack including a SteelBook case. Those who purchase one of the games before February 28, 2023, will be able to receive a special in-game Pikachu that knows the move Fly and has the Flying Tera Type.
