Composer Shoji Meguro Goes Into Indie Development

Composer Shoji Meguro, known for his work on the Persona series and other Atlus titles, announced that he has left Atlus and is now working as a freelance composer and independent developer. However, he has stated that he will still be working with Atlus on future titles.

Shoji Meguro joined Atlus in 1995 and, in addition to composing, he acted as director for the PlayStation Portable remakes of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Over the past five years, he has been developing his own titles under the pseudonym Megarock and is currently developing a new game with the support of Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab. The new game is a sci-fi stealth RPG and is set to be officially unveiled during the Winter 2021 Indie Live Expo on November 6, 2021, though a few screenshots can be seen below alongside a video message from Shoji Meguro.
