The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Landing in July

The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma put in an appearance during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. He started off by confirming that the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would not be appearing in the presentation, but that development is currently progressing on the title.

Instead, Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, a remaster of the previous mainline The Legend of Zelda title, which released for Nintendo Wii in 2011. The remaster will launch for Nintendo Switch on July 16, 2021. It will translate the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk motion control system to the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, but there will also be button controls for those playing in handheld mode or on the Nintendo Switch Lite. Special Joy-Cons themed on the Master Sword and Hylian Shield will be available.
