I’ll take that a bit farther and ask if Pokémon is something that should always stay 1 vs 1 battles for the most part, or could it go to a party-based system where 4 Pokémon take on a group of enemies (in turn-based combat of course because the answer to Budai’s question is YES)?

How does an eastern view of religion shift how Japanese have always handled finding a god or deity in a video game? I suppose you could make the case even in western RPGs you do fight deities in d&d but it’s always been thematically different in most jrpgs.
