Some people don’t really like being low levels in RPGs. They complain of lack of skills, and that attacking is repetitive. But I content that there is something magical about being a level 1 and going out and attacking slimes to level up a few times and collect enough gold to buy that first weapon upgrade. Is there anything similar you feel?

It seems that dq11 plot wise had an obvious attempt to feel a little more modern. At times the plot almost feels like a more modern tales. Do you think this had anything to do with western fans even a tiny bit? Maybe the 3ds version feels closer to classical dragon quest.

How suprised were you when you see dq11 sold nearly as well on ps4 as 3ds?

Is japan going more toward using sourced engines compared to building their own? It seems they have tried this a little more. What are your thoughts?

Regarding the summer units in Fire Emblem Heroes that were brought up, they’ve had two sets of summer promos. The first year was 50/50 between men and women. This year’s promo had three sets, with the first two being 3-1 for the women while the last one was 50/50. (It was also based on a Japanese, er, Hoshidan festival, so it wasn’t as focused on the sexy.)

Can you think of any rpg that had large differences between west and Japanese versions. For instance the dq11 has a run feature
