Parthenope Announced

Independent developer Katabasi Studio announced detective RPG Parthenope. The story of the game takes place in the city of Naples, with players assuming the role of an anthropologist who is aided by a local in his investigations of the city’s mysteries. The developer cites Disco Elsysium, Pentiment, the novels of Elena Ferrante, and the movies of Paolo Sorrentino as inspirations for its RPG.

Parthenope is billed as a 3D game making players explore the bustling streets of Naples where they can obtain information through gossips and unconventional means as tarot card reading and dream interpretation. The game will feature the ability to assume various disguises with different effects. The developer has yet to reveal any platforms on which Parthenope will be available, nor a potential release window.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly become obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as more as gameplay. Now, I am, writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
