The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki Announced, Crossbell Saga Heads to PS4

Nihon Falcom announced the newest entry in its Legend of Heroes series. The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki, which roughly translates as “Trails of Beginnings”, is billed as a major turning point for the continent of Zemuria and will lead into the conclusion of the wider Trails/Kiseki saga. The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki is being developed for PlayStation 4 and will be released in Japan in the summer of 2020.

Hajimari no Kiseki is set after the events of Trails of Cold Steel IV, whose previous entry was released in North America earlier this year. The game will follow three different protagonists located in different parts of the continent, known as “the Hero”, “the Liberator”, and “the Hermit”. The first two of those characters will be familiar to series fans, while the third is currently unknown. The game will let players switch between the three perspectives at will and will feature over fifty playable characters, including special scenarios that go over the backstories of many of the characters.

In addition, Nihon Falcom also announced that both games in the series’ Crossbell saga will be coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan. The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki Kai and The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki Kai will both be released in the spring of 2020 as separate titles. The two games were both originally released for PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2010, before later getting PlayStation Vita versions that added voice acting. The PlayStation 4 versions will be fully voiced and include a high-speed mode that was added to the Trails of Cold Steel and Trails of Cold Steel II PlayStation 4 releases alongside other graphical, audio, and UI enhancements. The games focus on the city of Crossbell, which is located between Zemuria’s two superpowers, and follow Lloyd Bannings, a rookie investigator in the Crossbell police force.
