Dragon Quest XI S Arrives on Consoles, PC Next Month; Demo Available

Square Enix has released a demo for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Dragon Quest XI S takes place in the land of Erdrea, with players taking on the role of The Luminary, a young man whose destiny will change the world.

The demo provides multiple hours of content from the opening of the game and also showcases the quality-of-life improvements added since the game’s original release. Some of the improvements in Dragon Quest XI S are the ability to speed up battles, Japanese and English audio, a symphonic soundtrack, and a photo mode to capture the beautiful landscapes players will travel through. Dragon Quest XI S also provides an improved crafting system, new character stories, and the ability to play the entire game in 2D like a classic Dragon Quest game.

Progress from the demo can be carried over to the full game when it releases on December 4, 2020. As an added bonus, players who complete the main scenario of the demo will receive three “Seed of Skill” items which grant players an extra skill point when consumed and can be used either in the demo or upon continuing their save progress in the full game.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age was originally released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS in Japan in 2017 before coming to PlayStation 4 and PC internationally in 2018. Dragon Quest XI S was released for Nintendo Switch worldwide on September 27, 2019, on PlayStation 4 Xbox One, and PC on December 4, 2020.
