The Next Generation of Destiny 2 Is on Its Way

Bungie has announced that it will be launching dedicated next-generation versions of Destiny 2 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on December 8, 2020. Players who have already purchased Destiny 2 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X version, respectively, for free.

Bungie has stated that next-generation improvements will include faster load times and cross-generation play. Destiny 2 will run at 4k on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. A field-of-view slider is also being included on consoles for the first time to give players a FOV range close to that on PC. Bungie is still testing this feature and will have additional details closer to launch.
