New Year's Day

January 1st, 2003
Updater on Duty:Justin Weiss

With the beginning of a new year comes a new roundtable, where we take a look back and a look forward to figure out the state of our favorite industry. The RPG genre continues to grow, and with developments like the much-publicized Square/Enix merger and the growth of online RPGs over the past year, 2003 looks to be one of the most interesting years RPG fans have ever seen.

Our roundtable topics tonight concerned the aforementioned merger and how it might affect the state of the RPG industry. Next, we discussed the possibility of cell phone RPGs taking off in the near future, and we closed with our staff members revealing which RPGs they are looking forward to the most in the upcoming year. As always, if you have any comments or questions about anything discussed today, send an email to me at rtable@rpgamer.com, and I'll get back to you ASAP.

We're always open to applications to sit on our roundtable and talk about games with your favorite staff members of RPGamer; the link is on the sidebar to the right. Suggestions, comments, possible discussion topics, and anything else you feel like throwing my way are always welcome, and should be sent to rtable@rpgamer.com. Have a good week, and keep reading!
