Sony held the keynote presentation today for its PlayStation Experience event in Anaheim. A number of RPG put in appearances during the presentation, starting with Level-5's sequel Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, which received a new trailer that reaffirms a release for PlayStation 4 in 2017.

It was followed by the announcement of two more Yakuza game localisations. The already-revealed Yakuza Zero is coming out on PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe on January 24, 2017, but it will also be joined in the west by Yakuza Kiwami, the full remake of the first game, and Yakuza 6. Yakuza Kiwami is set for release in summer 2017, with Yakuza 6 following in early 2018. Following Yakuza was Square Enix and Platinum Games's Nier: Automata, which received a release date. The game will be released on March 7, 2017, with a demo planned for release in the next few weeks.

Nihon Falcom's Ys series put in a somewhat surprising appearance, as Sony announced that Ys Origin, which was first released in English for PC in 2012, will be coming to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on February 21, 2017. A new trailer was shown for Devolver Digital and Slo-Cap's melee-focused multiplayer RPG, Absolver, and Supergiant Games' Pyre also came with a new trailer, which featured the reveal of its multiplayer mode. The head-on-head Versus Mode is an addition on top of the game's single player campaign and sees players trying to extinguish their opponent's ceremonial flame.

The last two titles to appear where Koei Tecmo and Omega Force's Nioh and Guerilla Games's Horizon: Zero Dawn, which received new trailers. Both games are in development exclusively on PlayStation with Nioh due out on February 9, 2017, and Horizon: Zero Dawn due out on February 28, 2017.
