Sega has released new trailers for two of its upcoming Yakuza titles. First up is a new trailer for Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the first Yakuza game to celebrate ten years of the franchise. This eight-minute trailer shares the story behind Yakuza Kiwami, focusing on the relationship between the protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, and his yakuza-sworn brother, Akira Nishiki. This remake features updated scenes, the ability to fight Goro Majima anywhere, as well as new minigames and improved combat. The game is set to release in Japan on January 21, 2016 for PlayStation 3 and 4.
The second trailer Sega has shared is for the PlayStation 4 exclusive Yakuza 6. One of new improvements as shown in this early demo trailer is significantly improved graphics over the series' PlayStation 3 entries. The game's creator, Toshihiro Nagoshi, has also announced that the theme of this instalment is "freedom," not just for the characters, but also for players who want to move freely between the game's various cities. Yakuza 6 is still well into development, and there is no known release date at this time.
