Rampant Games has announced that its first-person dungeon crawler Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon is now avaliable for Windows. Sporting 3D graphics and turn-based combat similar to that of Wizardry, Frayed Knights attempts to challenge players while adding a bit of humor to the overall mix.
In a word of jaded adventurers, players take on the part of four misfits: Arianna, a dainty warrior with an attitude problem; Dirk, a rogue with no concept of subtlety; Benjamin, a nature-priest unsuited for adventuring, and Chloe, a ditzy sorceress with a love of cute things and setting stuff on fire. The story begins when rumors speak of the return of an evil that once all but destroyed civilization.
Frayed Knights features over thirty hours of gameplay and a unique "Drama Star" system that rewards players for playing through tough situations instead of reloading the game. With over eighty different feats and nearly two hundred items to be used and abused by players, the game has tons of content to offer. Frayed Knight is priced at $22.95 and can be purchased at Rampant's online store. A Mac version is also currently in the works and will release shortly.
