Earlier this month, a listing appeared on GameStop.com which gave Suikoden Tierkreis for the Nintendo DS a March 17, 2009 release date. The listing appears to be clairvoyant, as Konami announced this week that the game would be coming to the North American market in March (though the exact date is still officially unknown). Suikoden Tierkreis will be the first Suikoden game to be released on a handheld, and as reported earlier, will differ somewhat from the previous Suikoden games.
Konami also revealed that Suikoden Tierkreis will have an online component which can be experienced through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players will "send their characters on quests that other members of the Suikoden: Tierkreis community will complete for them," according to a Konami fact sheet. The sheet further states that "as your character travels around the community and completes quests he will eventually return to your party with new abilities and treasures." The exact workings of the online component have not been announced yet.
In related news, Suikoden Tierkreis has been rated E10+ by the ESRB. The game will include alcohol reference, fantasy violence, language, and mild suggestive themes.
