Famitsu recently revealed a few new details regarding Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, the straight-to-DVD movie sequel to the PlayStation hit Final Fantasy VII. The magazine featured a full-page layout of new screens highlighting some new and familiar faces that will appear in the movie.
A couple of the screens show Cloud engaging in a fight with a new stranger in a misty, blue-tinted forest. Another screen heralds the return of Barret, sporting cornrows in his hair and a shiny new silver mechanical arm. One particular mysterious shot shows a character resembling Vincent leaping from a tree, silhouetted by the moon. In addition, there is a screen depicting a flashback to the burial scene of Aeris in the lake at the City of the Ancients.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will be released in Japan sometime next year. A North American release date has not been announced.
