Pokémon Center Comes to New York
Pokémon

Last year, Nintendo announced that its Pokémon Center would expand to more than ten stores, starting with a new location in New York City. On November 16, 2001, the NYC store will open its doors, making it the third Pokémon Center worldwide in addition to existing stores in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.

At the Pokémon Center fans can find just about any product related to Nintendo's vast Pokémon empire. Videogames, cards, videotapes, DVDs, stuffed animals, figurines and dinnerware are included among the marchandise for sale.

In celebration of the NYC opening, Nintendo has unveiled a new edition of the Game Boy Advance standard unit. It is gold-colored with a silhouette of Pikachu and Pichu next to the GBA logo. The Pokémon logo is printed above the A & B buttons and the words "Pokémon Center New York City" appear at the top of the screen.

The new Pokémon Center is located at 10 Rockefeller Center on 48th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. The new GBA unit will be sold there and at Pokémon's official online store.
