Enix has announced a sequel to last year's Game Boy Color title, Dragon Warrior Monsters. The sequel, titled Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Maruta No Fushigina (Maruta's Mysterious Key), will be released in two parts: Ruka no Tabidachi (Ruka's Travels) and Iru no Bouken (Iru's Adventure). It is unclear how the two versions will interact, but the current trend seems to be for two separate games to complete each other, as seen with the Pokémon games and the upcoming SD Gundam Hero for WonderSwan Color.
A release date of March 20, 2001, has been given for the Japanese release of Dragon Quest Monsters 2. Enix has not yet stated whether or not this title will be released in the United States.
