Release Date & Price for Dreamcast Broadband Adapter

Sega's current-generation console ships with a built-in 56K modem for online playing, but by modern standards this online device consigned users to the Internet back roads. Now, thanks to the Dreamcast broadband adapter, players can graduate to the online world's freeways.

The unit will go on sale January 2, for a retail price of $59.95, letting Dreamcast owners ring in the new year with style. The most obvious game to benefit from the new Dreamcast peripheral is Phantasy Star Online, but broadband connectivity will enhance the console's entire library of online titles.
