The Pokémon Company and Nintendo have put out some new details and a new video concerning some of the new content included in the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. The first details concern the overall story. While Pokémon Sun and Moonfocused on the legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon features a new story with a third legendary, Necrozma, where dark clouds begin to cover Alola and some of the region's undisclosed secrets will be revealed.
The games' main characters will come with new appearance styles, and players will once again choose one of Rowlet, Litten, or Popplio at the start of their new adventure. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will also feature a new Z-Power Ring, which will be acquired by the player character and unlocks even more potential Z-moves. Like with the previous titles, a physical toy version will be available that can interact with the games.
Finally, the companies also revealed a new evolution form for the Pokémon Rockruff. In Pokémon Sun Rockruff evolves into Midday Form Lycanroc, while in Pokémon Moon it evolves into Midnight Form Lycanroc. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will allow it to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc. However, only certain Rockruff will be able to evolve into the Dusk Form, with more details to be revealed at a later date.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be released exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on November 17, 2017. The games will be available physically and digitally, including a special physical Ultra Dual Edition containing both version and special packaging.
