THQ Nordic has pulled back the curtain on the opening cinematic of Airship Syndicate's upcoming turn-based RPG Battle Chasers: Nightwar. Viewable below, the video is done in the style of a 1980s animated kids' series, in a homage to the game's comic book source material.
The video features all six of the playable Battle Chasers, providing a unique intro for each of them in turn. Readers of the comic books will immediately recognize Garrison, Gully, Callibretto, Knolan, and Red Monika, but the video also offers an advance look at an original character, Alumon the Devil Hunter. An exiled member of an order of Battle Priests, the white-haired Alumon uses his extensive knowledge of the dangerously unpredictable dark arts to earn a living as a bounty hunter.
Based on Joe Madureira's comic book series of the same name, Battle Chasers: Nightwar will focus on dungeon crawling with traditional, JRPG-style turn-based combat. The game is set to release on October 3, 2017, on PC, Mac, and all three next-gen consoles.
