The next entry in the venerable Disgaea series hits North America on October 9, 2015. Along with series staples, Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance adds new features to this entry, such as the Curry Shop, Alchemist, and the Netherworld Editor.
In the Curry Shop, players will create new curries that add special effects to their squads for battle. Generally these are buffs to stats, but not all effects are beneficial. Players will need to experiment to find the good, the bad, and the poisonous recipes.
Players will also be able to send units out to explore other Netherworlds through the Nether Research Squad. During their exploration, your units can unlock new worlds to visit, find rare items, and can gain experience. Other worlds can have special effects, such as a snowy world lowering fire resistance, but these effects can be changed thanks to the Netherworld Editor.
The Netherworld Editor allows the creation of new worlds. These worlds can even be explored by other players. These worlds can also be summoned while in battle and the effects of these worlds will replace any that the current one has.
The Alchemist allows players to create their own items and add Innocents, residents of items that provide many effects, to each item. If the player doesn't have enough Innocents, there is an Innocent Farm in game where players can breed them, sometimes resulting in rare or exceptionally powerful effects.
NIS America has also announced that there will be five waves of DLC released from October 16, 2015 to November 13, 2015. The DLCs contain new scenarios and familiar characters, and are set to be released each week following the game's release.
