Drakengard 3, or Drag-On Dragoon 3 for the Japanese-minded, has received its first trailer. The game will be a prequel to the first two Drakengard games and Nier. It stars two sisters, Zero and One, who have music-based magical powers.
There's a purpose behind the copious amount of blood seen in the trailer. The power of the sisters' magical songs increases the more they are covered in the blood of their enemies. Zero also appears to have cybernetic implants and a flower growing out of her eye, but we don't know what those things mean yet. If this sounds like just the kind of setup that would come from the creator of Nier, that's because it did.
Drakengard 3 will release on the PlayStation 3. It comes out this December in Japan, but has not yet been confirmed for English localization.
