2k Games and Gearbox Software have officially announced Borderlands 2, the sequel to 2009's co-op shooter/RPG-hybrid. The game will be making its debut at Gamescom this August. It's planned for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, and will come out in late 2012 to early 2013.
Borderlands 2 will feature all-new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment along with an all-new story. Gearbox promises that players will uncover mysteries of the world of Pandora during the game, but any further information remains a secret for now.
