The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed Konami's newest project, Suikoden Tierkreis for the Nintendo DS. This portable title is a brand new game in the Suikoden series and will feature 3D characters, voice acting, and cinematic cutscenes. The game is an estimated 50% complete at this time.
Suikoden Tierkreis includes touch screen functionality to move battles along at a speedy pace. The game still looks to feature the series staple 108 characters, but the party size has appeared to drop to a maximum of four in battle. It is stated that Tierkreis will have support characters and new races. The quest appears to involve a new main character attempting to reunite the 108 heroes after a tragic loss to the game's villain. Unfortunately, no release date has been stated as of yet. There is also no word of a North American release, though the name has been trademarked in the US. Time will tell.
