Square Enix has recently announced that the online multiplayer service for Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus will be disconnected as of September 29th. The online feature has been available for Japanese players since the game's launch in December. So far no such feature for the US version has been confirmed.
Until the shut down, however, Square Enix will continue to provide updates and some additional content, such as extra storylines, new maps and missions. It has not been confirmed whether the service will be resumed. It seems, though, that players will soon have to settle for the offline, single-player mode.
