The game we once tentatively titled Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land has been confirmed for a North American release, but with a twist. The farming sim series will now be published by XSEED Games instead of Natsume. Since Natsume owns the Harvest Moon trademark, the game will be released under the title Story of Seasons. It will be available on the 3DS this winter.
Story of Seasons continues the trend of heavy customization found in Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, with customizable player characters, farms, and towns. Players will now be able to connect online to visit one another's farms, grow crops together, and exchange gifts. Other new features include the ability to swim in rivers, a player-run safari area that houses exotic animals, quality of life improvements that make farming easier, and Super Mario-themed crops.
