Konami has announced that two of its longest running series will be receiving new iterations this fall in North America. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia will be released on the Nintendo DS, while Lost in Blue Shipwrecked will be released on the Nintendo Wii.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia has players taking the role of a member of Ecclesia, an organization set on defeating Dracula. This newest title in the Castlevania series will feature an all-new glyph battle system that allows players over 100 different combinations to use. There will be 20 explorable areas, many different sidequests, and alternate endings requiring multiple play-throughs.
"We have always felt that the Castlevania franchise has been an excellent fit on Nintendo DS, and based on the popularity of the DS classics, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, our fans agree," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "We fully expect Order of Ecclesia to ignite the fan base once again as it combines the classic Castlevania gameplay with an all-new combat system and outdoor environments."
Marking the first time the series has been released on the Nintendo Wii, Lost in Blue Shipwrecked will be fully 3D. Utilizing the Wii controller and nunchuk, players will be able to use realistic motions to help the survival of their characters. There will be over 40 mini-games, such as: fishing, carpentry, fire-making and other all-new cooperative games. Players will also be able to befriend pets that can help them find a way off of the island.
"Building upon the success of the previous Lost in Blue DS titles, we wanted to give fans an extended experience in the first console version of the series," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "Bringing the series to Wii will ensure fans receive the most exciting, immersive survival adventure game to date."
