Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is preparing would-be adventurers to get an early taste of the upcoming MMORPG, and Funcom is making it happen. Beta testing sign-ups have just begun, but only few thousand spaces will be open for this spring. Players who want to test their luck can visit Funcom's registration page, and register for a chance to be one of the chosen few. Those who don't make it will get another chance, as more spaces will open up throughout summer and fall.
Age of Conan will be beta-tested in two ways: as a Technical Beta, and as a General Beta. Both will run simultaneously, but the Technical Beta will be held in shorter test-runs throughout the next few months to test things like server capacity. The General Beta focuses on gameplay, so players will have a chance to experience the world of Conan.
Players who are invited into the beta will be given certain benefits, such as a token of appreciation awarded to your character in the final version of the game. Additionally, if you are a member of the Age of Conan community, you have a greater chance of being invited into the beta. So far, the game is scheduled for release on the PC on October 30. Plans to bring the game to the Xbox 360 are already underway, though a release date has yet to be announced. For more information on Age of Conan, visit the official website.
