In a recent annoucement, MonolithSoft has decided that due to the impressive sales of its finale to the Xenosaga series, Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra, they have decided to begin work on the second half of the originally intended saga.
"While Shion's arc wrapped up nicely with the ending of Episode III, we realize that there's still so much more of the story to tell. While the last couple games have deviated somewhat from our original intent, we are hard at work trying to adapt the story to the initial saga," MonolithSoft's PR manager stated.
Initial reports have been somewhat sketchy, but we do know that Episode IV is the precursor to Xenogears, which was dubbed "Episode V" in its credits. The plot of Die Geburt der Tragödie is going to center around an unknown organization's desire to grab the Zohar and use it to some evil purpose, and that the game will ultimately lead up to the spaceship Eldridge crashing to the planet below, some 10,000 years before the events of Xenogears take place.
Because the story needs to be revamped to reflect some of the changes, it will be interesting to see this story develop, and hopefully Xeno fans will rejoice everywhere.
