In what looks to be the game's final release date change, it was announced by Microsoft Game Studios on April Fool's Day that Jade Empire's release date has changed to April 12, two days before the date of April 14 that was given in late January. Along with this revelation, the game's ascension to gold status was also disclosed.
Both the normal and limited edition versions of the game will be available on this date, with the limited edition containing a foil hologram box, as well as a bonus character and additional fighting style not contained within the normal version. The bonus character, Monk Zeng, has the ability to channel his Chi to fuel powerful elemental and spiritual attacks. Monk Zeng can arm himself with a weapon known as the spade staff, which is useful for slashing foes at a distance and finishing them off with follow-up attacks.
The limited edition of the game is available for pre-order now, and goes for the price of $49.95, the same price as the normal version.
