If you're out of the loop, Konami is bringing a very popular and long running RPG series in Japan, to North American consumers for the PSP and the PS2. The sixth game in the series, Ys: The Ark of Napishtim, is the first in the series to feature 3D graphics, and stars Adol Christian as he explores the Vortex of Canaan.
The upcoming version will contain many improvements from the already released PC version, including new characters, new character models, an improved map, additional stages, new enemies, a brand new musical score, and anime cutscenes. Hidden artwork and CG movies of past Ys games can also be unlocked through gameplay. Also, Adol has to power up three magical swords to be able to use special abilities, combinations, and attacks that can be used during combat and to solve puzzles.
We're told that the PS2 release is expected to take place this November. Afterwards the PSP version will be released in 2005.
