The most popular farming simulator out there will definitely be arriving on the next-generation systems, beginning with the PlayStation 2, according to developer Victor Interactive. Harvest Moon III will feature the standard graphics upgrade, but will keep the cartoonish graphics of its predecessors, going so far as to feature cel-shaded graphics. Not much is yet known about the game other than the unique graphical style.
The Harvest Moon series follows the adventures of a simple farmer attempting to make his (or in more recent games, her) farm profitable through the purchase, growth, and sale of crops. Each game had its own twists on the general premise, though it remains to be seen how Harvest Moon III will change the series. No Japanese or North American release date has yet been announced, but a North American release is eventually expected.
