New trailers arrived this week for two games in developer Nihon Falcom's Ys series. The first of the two videos viewable below is a gameplay video of the PlayStation 4 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, which is planned for release in Japan on May 25, 2017. The game was previously released in Japan for PlayStation Vita in July 2016. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was also recently announced for release in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC in summer 2017 by NIS America.
The second video is a launch trailer from publisher DotEmu for its PlayStation 4 release of Ys Origin, which is available now digitally for $19.99. Ys Origin is a distant prequel to the main Ys series, taking place 700 years before the first game. The game was originally released for PC in Japan in 2006, with XSEED Games releasing an enhanced version in English for PC in 2012. Those looking to read more about the game can check out a couple of reviews for the English PC version. Ys Origin is also set for release on PlayStation Vita on May 30, 2017.
