Bandai Namco recently released a new trailer for the latest Sword Art Online game, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. The trailer, viewable below, features a Japanese voice-over with English subtitles and gives a brief overview of the gameplay and premise for the title.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is the fourth Sword Art Online game and third to be released in English, though the second game, Hollow Fragment, is effectively an enhanced remake and expansion for the first game, Infinity Moment. The game series takes place in an alternate universe to the original light novel and anime series, with Kirito and company ending up trapped in the titular VRMMORPG for a longer period.
Hollow Realization takes place four years after the events of Hollow Fragment/Infinity Moment in a new VRMMORPG named Sword Art: Origin, which has been created using the original Sword Art Online servers. Most of the series main characters feature in the game, along with a mysterious new character named Premiere. Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is due to be released in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in fall 2016, with North American and European releases set for the same platforms sometime in 2016.
