The newest release from Atlus, a 3D dungeon-crawling RPG called Etrian Odyssey, looks like it might be the company's next big DS title. Released in Japan on January 18th, the game has already sold out its first shipment, with somewhere between 30,000 and 50,000 copies sold.
Formerly known as Yggdrasil Labyrinth, the story of Etrian Odyssey begins in a small peaceful village called Etria. A crack in the ground in the forest at Etria's edge is discovered and chaos ensues. Lead your adventurers into the dark depths of the winding labyrinth to explore its mysteries, while using the stylus to create your own dungeon maps.
Etrian Odyssey will see a May release in North America, and has yet to be rated by the ESRB. Check back with RPGamer for future information on this title.
