Contrary to what several news outlets have been reporting, an official release date for Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga has not been disclosed until today. North America will have the chance to experience their next Shin Megami Tensei title on April 5, and not March 29, which has been widely reported as the correct release date.
Digital Devil Saga follows the exploits of Serph and his cohorts in the Junkyard; a world where rival tribes fight endlessly for supremacy and the right to ascend to Nirvana. A mysterious light has stricken Serph and his friends with the insatiable hunger to devour their enemies, but has also granted them the ability to morph into demons. The game is rated "M" for mature and will, obviously, follow some pretty strong adult themes.
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga will come in a Deluxe Box Set, which will subsequently raise the price of the game to $54.99, which is a bit more than new games usually go for. The Deluxe Box Set includes an official soundtrack CD which contains over 30 songs from the game, and collector's art box for Digital Devil Saga, as well as Digital Devil Saga 2, which will be hitting North American retailers this fall.
